Edward makes breed history by becoming the first Canadian bred Gordon to complete the requirements for CKC Grand Champion status.
Another BIG win for Edward! June 11, 2010 BEST OF BREED at the Gordon Setter Club of America National Specialty, Greeley ,Colorado. Breeder/Owner/Handled all the way. Only the second Gordon in History to win both US and Canadian Nationals.

Edward finishes his American championship in style! All his points won from the BBE class at Specialties or Supported entries.
Edward adds another feather to his cap winning Best of Breed at the Canadian National Specialty, Winnipeg Manitoba, August 8th 2009.

Pictures from our busy weekend in Camrose. Two group placements and a novice rally title.
My pride and joy. There is a special bond between us no matter where we are. A joy to be around. A dog with a girly bark at home and a deep basement bark on the road, he makes me laugh.
Edward can now add RN to his list of accomplishments. After taking five classes we entered four CARO trials, qualifying three for three. The fourth trial was FEO and being a true gordon he played to the gallery. Gordons certainly know how to put your feet on the ground again.

Who says show dogs don't have normal lives?

Edward just loves to wallow in mud, but he sure cleans up nicely for the ring
This babysitting is serious business
Christmas in California, what fun! A new yard to rip around and explore, holes to dig and grass to kill. Thank goodness hostess Jane loves her grandkids. Edward's favorite part of the holiday was cornering a huge possum in the back yard and letting the neighbourhood in on the event.
My favorite event of the trips was the Specialty in Palm Springs. Edward was WD and Best Bred by. The following day Edward was BW and is sitting just one point shy of his American title. A good excuse for another road trip.

An overcast windy day for a picture, but a major is a major!
We headed out on a long road trip this September. 9200 km round trip driving altogether. Some people think we are crazy but heh what a way to see the country. Our first destination was Mineral Ridge, Ohio to visit Bart. From there we went to Mukungie, PA for the Brandywine Specialty where Edward was awarded RWD. The next day at Kunztown, PA at the supported entry, Edwards was awarded WD/BW/BOS for his second major. A little trip of eight hours tooks us to Gettysburg where the GSCA National was being held. I am thrilled to say Edward was RWD.
After a week in Gettysberg, we headed to Newport, RI to stay with Jani Wolstenhome and Uncle Ronan. The boys did well together, sharing the girls and marking territory as they switched places. A great week chilling out after some busy days.

Hits Texas in style!
Sunbelt Gordon Specialty, Hutto, Texas. On this trip south we were hoping for winners dog and our first points towards and AKC Championship. What a thrill to be awarded Best of Breed from the Bred by Exhibitor class. A five point major to start things off with. Thank you Lorraine Bisso for honouring this young man.

Edward is my first Best in Show dog, its been a while in the making, but worth every step. I am absolutely thrilled to say he was breeder/owner/handled all the way to this win. Thank you Kay Eldred for honoring this exciting youngster with a BIS. This is just the beginning of Edward's career as a special.
Edward certainly lives up to his name, gaining his Canadian championship at nine months, with four, three point majors, including a Best of Breed over Specials and a Group III to top it off. Stateside Edward has attended two GSCA National Specialties and was awarded BOSw from the 6-9 month class in Cincinnati OH 2005 and BOSw from the 15-18 month class in Cleveland OH 2006. A fun dog to live with, full of mischief, Edward is doing well in obedience classes and would probably do even better if I trained on a regular basis, such as every day.
Edward is a clown and mischief maker, always up to or into something, he has a warped sense of humour. Edward’s favorite game is hiding behind a blade of grass, he usually does this at the far end of the paddock and you are expected to walk over to him and act surprised when he leaps out at you and then high tails it back to the kennel or pretends that all his bones are made of Jell-O and when you try to pick him up it's like threading a string of jelly through a knot hole in a tree.

Thank goodness Edward decided to wait until after his best in show before blowing coat. Although he wasn't in coat for the US national the body and muscle tone say it all.

Canadian National July 2007 where the bird in the tree was more interesting that what was happening in the ring.
