Michael finished his Canadian title with multiple breed wins from the classes over specials while still living at Sassenach. When he was three, he and Alan entered the show ring in the USA, starting with five- and four-point majors the first weekend. In six weekends of showing he finished his American Championship with two more three-point majors plus two singles.
With his floating movement, long range and nose for birds, Michael was a natural in the field, finishing his American JH in 2003 and his Canadian FDJ in 2004. While he much preferred hunting, Michael humoured Jean in the obedience ring, completing his Canadian CD in 2004 and his American CD at the 2004 Sturbridge National with the high score in Novice A.
Michael was owner trained and handled to all his titles and is, to our knowledge, only the second dog to complete the entire set of BBB requirements in both Canada and the USA.
Retired with an occasional foray into the Veterans ring, Michael now specialises in squirrel hunting, long walks with Alan and sofa-snuggling with Jean. He’s a gentle and dedicated puppy-sitter with his own get and his grandchildren. A very social fellow, Michael loves to go shopping with Alan, where everyone knows the big boy with the wagging tail and the slurpy kisses.
